Sage Gentry is an artist living and working in Rochester NY. They create assemblage work with a focus in soft sculpture. Primarily illustrative, Sage’s work acts as a form of escapism through their use of world building. Each work has a visual narrative linking them together. They bring that world into the physical plane through sculpture, drawing, and painting. Inspired by stop motion animation and puppeteering, Sage creates personified objects that will surely be your friend.
Sage has made objects since a very young age, first notably being a cat from masking tape. But on top of a life long pursuit of art, Sage received a BFA in Sculpture and Integrative Practices from Pratt Institute (2022).
