Submission guidelines

We’ve observed a few buying tendencies of our postcard-picking patrons over the past couple of years. Here are some do’s and don’t’s when creating/selecting artwork to delight our snail mail senders:

Please do submit:

Your own original, human-made artwork
Work featuring Geneseo, in obvious or subtle ways
A design that could brighten someone’s day if it showed up in their mailbox
Something heartfelt or hilarious, tender or quirky — a little love note from one human to another
A brand-new piece made for this show, or an old favorite that already fits the theme (as long as you haven’t already submitted that older piece in previous years)
Portrait or landscape, either is fine!

Please do NOT submit:

AI-generated images
A photo of your dog or cat or fish
A photo of you and your friends
Work you have already submitted to this show in previous years
Someone else’s work
Something you found online
Overly Valentine’s Day-esque artwork - counter-intuitively, these are not as likely to be purchased/sent!

Obviously, don’t rip any of these off, but do use as reference when you’re thinking about what kind of art people are likely to want to send to their loved ones from Geneseo.
